Open the folder that contains the JPEG file. If the JPEG is on your desktop, go to the desktop. Otherwise, press ⊞ Win+E to open the File Explorer, then navigate to the folder that contains the file.- If you download the JPEG from the internet, it may be in the Downloads folder.
- You can search for the file by typing its name into the search bar at the top-right corner of the File Explorer.

Double-click the file. This opens the image in the default image viewer. If you're using Windows 10 and haven't made any changes to your file associations, this is the Photos app.- To open the JPEG in a different app, right-click the file, select Open With, then choose a different app.
- You can open JPEGs in any web browser (e.g. Edge) or image editing app (e.g. Photoshop).

Open Finder on your Mac. You can do this by clicking the Finder icon (a blue and gray smiling face) on the leftmost edge of the Dock. -
Open the folder that contains the JPEG file. You can browse folders and drives in the left column of finder. -
Double-click the file. The image will appear in the default image viewer, which is usually Preview.- To open the image in a different app, hold ⌘ Command and click the file, select Open With, then select the app.
