Create a Yahoo account. To access Yahoo! Groups, you need a Yahoo account.

Create an account by going to www.Yahoo.com and clicking 'Mail'.

Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new account.

You will need to provide a username and password.

Choose a username that you won't mind if others see. Once you join the group, other people will see this name.

You will use this username and password to log in to Yahoo! Groups.

Remember to protect yourself. Practice safety on the Internet by following some simple guidelines.

You should create a username (avoid using your real name for privacy reasons).

When setting a password, do not use date of birth, identity card number, consecutive numbers or letters (1234 or abcd).

Do not share your password with anyone. If you write your password down on paper, keep it in a safe place.

Log in with an existing account. If you already have a Yahoo email account, there is no need to create another account for Yahoo! Groups.

Log in to your Yahoo email account at https://login.yahoo.com/.

Click "Groups" at the top of the screen to access Yahoo! Groups.

Browse to find groups. Choose from among the various categories listed on the main Yahoo! Groups at www.groups.yahoo.com.

Categories include Business & Finance, Computers & Internet, Family & Home, Government & Politics, Hobbies & Crafts (Hobbies & crafts), Romance & Relationships (Romance & relationships), Schools & Education (Schools & Education), etc.

Start searching for groups by clicking on one of these categories.

Click the group name to see a description of the group.

Find groups by searching by keyword. You can search yourself if you know the name of the group you want to join.

Use the search box at the top of the main Yahoo! Groups and enter keywords to find groups.

Click the 'Search Groups' button next to the search box to start searching.

You may need to try a few combinations until you find the right group.

Join a group that you enjoy. After finding the group, please apply to join.

On the group's page, click the 'Join Group' link.

If the group is restricted, you must wait for the group's owner or admin to approve the request before you can join.

If this group is open, you will be automatically added to the group.

Once you've joined a group, you can access messages, pictures, files, and all the content people post in the group.

Share your membership information. Choose what you want to share with the group.

Select an alias (display name). The default alias will be your email address.

Share your email address.

Decide how often you want to receive notifications from the group.

Confirm the selections by re-entering the text displayed in the frame. This will help verify your identity.

You can change how often the team emails you at any time. Visit the Edit Membership area on your group's home page and click the edit icon next to the Subscription button.

Change the display name (alias) by logging into Yahoo mail. Click the "Settings" > "Accounts" option. Select "Edit" to the right of "Yahoo Account" and enter your new name under the "Sending Name" heading.

Receive emails from the group. You can receive emails from the group without joining.

To subscribe, send a blank email to groupname-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

Replace 'groupname' with the actual name of the group.

After you reply to the confirmation message, you'll start receiving emails from the team.

You won't have access to all Teams web features like photos, polls, and calendars.

You can decide to join the group later by submitting a request to join on the group's home page.

Post to the group through Conversations. Conversations are the area where most group activities take place.

Click 'Conversations' on the group's home page.

Click 'New Topic', enter a new message and click 'Send'.

Click 'Reply to this message' to send a reply to another member's message.

You can add a link to the video, such as a YouTube link.

Email the group. You can email the group as you normally would with any email address.

Use the email account you used to sign up for Yahoo! Groups. This is also your Yahoo email account.

Enter groupname@yahoogroups.com in the "To:" field. Replace 'groupname' with the actual name of the group.

Compose your message in the email body then click 'Send'.

You can add photos as attachments.

Search for previously posted items. You can find previously posted messages, files, and images.

Once in a group, you can use the "search" icon to find older posts.

The "search" icon is a magnifying glass in a square frame.

This icon is always visible and can be used no matter where you are on the page.

After clicking the "search" icon, enter the keyword/name you want to search for.

Click "Enter" to view search results.
