The Ministry of Justice recently released details, which said that Karin Baratov, a Canadian national but cooperated with the Russian government. The other three defendants also have names despite the US government saying these people are hiding in Russia.
Baratov's mission is to hack and log in some of the designated FSB Yahoo accounts. According to the report, he did this only for money.
'This is an example of the cyber threat we face when the government works with hackers to commit criminal acts.' Paul Abbate, assistant director of the FBI said.

Baratov, 22, deceived the victim by sending them an email with links with malicious code to steal the account and sell it for money. He advertised his service on the Russian hack site and found a customer who needed that skill.
Baratov was arrested in March in Canada and extradited to California, where he was detained without bail. He is accused of violating the Anti-Abuse and Computer Fraud Act, in addition to imprisonment, and faces a fine of $ 2,250,000.
The trial will take place on February 20, 2018 and Baratov will face years of imprisonment.
