How to Get Pet Mutations in Jump for Animals

There are two main ways to obtain mutated pets in Jump for Animals: combine duplicate pets in the Mutation Machine, or collect Mutated Eggs during the Purple Aurora event. Mutations increase a pet's value and income, so they are useful when you are saving for Trails, Coils, and other upgrades.

Game values and event rules can change after updates. Use the numbers below as a guide and confirm the current multiplier or timer shown in your server.

Pet mutation multipliers

The original in-game wording or displayed values should take priority if an update changes these mechanics.

Method 1: Use the Mutation Machine

The Mutation Machine is in the Pen area near the Coil Shop. It converts duplicate animals into one pet with the Gold mutation.

1. Collect five pets of the same type and keep them in your inventory.
2. Go to the Mutation Machine in the Pen area.
3. Insert the five matching pets one at a time.
4. Start the process and wait for the machine's timer to finish.
5. Return to the machine and claim the resulting Gold-mutated pet.

This method consumes the five pets and returns a single mutated pet. Check that all five are the intended animal before starting, especially if you have a rare or upgraded duplicate that you do not want to use.

The machine also helps free space in your enclosure, but the main tradeoff is quantity: several regular pets become one more valuable pet. Compare the income you would lose from the five inputs with the Gold pet's expected output before combining your best earners.

Method 2: Collect Mutated Eggs

Mutated Eggs appear around the map during the Purple Aurora event. In the version described by this guide, the event begins after Training Frenzy and runs for about seven minutes. Watch the event indicator because the schedule or duration may change with a game update.

1. Keep inventory or enclosure space available before the event starts.
2. As soon as Purple Aurora begins, move around the map and collect the special eggs.
3. Continue searching until the event timer ends.
4. Place the collected eggs in an available cage and wait for them to hatch.

The source version of the event awards pets carrying Gold and Purple Aurora mutation effects from these eggs. Check the egg description and the hatched pet's labels to confirm the current result.

Which method should you use?

• Use the Mutation Machine when you have many identical duplicate pets and want a predictable Gold result.
• Prioritize the Purple Aurora event when it is active because the special eggs are available for a limited time.
• Keep strong regular earners active until you have enough duplicates that combining them will not slow your income too much.
• Reserve space in advance so a full inventory or enclosure does not interrupt an event run.

Why the machine may not accept a pet

Make sure all five animals are the same pet type, that they are in the correct inventory location, and that no required slot is empty. If the interface still does not respond, leave and reopen the machine, or rejoin the game. After a major update, read the machine prompt again because its requirements may have changed.

For steady progress, save duplicates for the Mutation Machine while continuing to collect event eggs. That lets you work toward mutations even when Purple Aurora is not active.
