Google appoints the date of death of Cloud Print

Cloud Print will no longer be supported by 2021, precisely from December 31, 2020.

Printing web documents using Google Chrome is about to get a bit more complicated because Google has just announced that the Cloud Print feature will no longer be supported by 2021. December 31, 2020.

Google has yet to give any reason to explain the sudden decision, as well as why they have to notify more than 1 year in advance. Many users have expressed their regret over the announcement of the death of Google Cloud Print and hope the company will 'rethink', change its decision before it takes effect. Therefore, it is not ruled out that Google makes this information one year in advance to test the users' true reaction before deciding whether to continue or permanently stop developing Cloud Print feature.

Cloud Print is a feature that allows users to perform remote printing on any device through Google Chrome browser. To use this feature, you only need to use your Google account to log in to the Google Cloud Print service on Chrome and then link the printers to that account.

Google Cloud Print can basically be used from any device that has the Chrome browser installed, but this feature will be especially useful if your device is running on ChromeOS. Cloud Print is an extremely effective alternative in case your printer is not compatible with the device's operating system, and makes printing various types of web documents a lot easier, even is when you are using the phone.

One thing that is quite confusing is that, although it was launched in 2010, Cloud Print is still labeled as a 'beta' at the moment.

In a recently released document, Google recommends that users switch to the printing features available on Chrome OS or on whatever operating system they're using. Hopefully, in the near future, Mountain View Company will give specific reasons for its decision so that those who have been used to Cloud Print for years to get the appropriate answer.
