The feature most requested by Flickr users is the new login system, which does not use Yahoo email addresses. MacAskill said it will test in December and release a new system in January next year. The SmugMug team also said it would delete comments or spam followers but the work is still incomplete.

Flickr was founded in 2004, acquired by Yahoo a year later for about $ 22 to $ 25 million. Last year, Verizon bought Yahoo and last April, SmugMug bought Flickr from Verizon's digital media subsidiary Oath.

Flickr offers a 30% discount for the first year of Flickr Pro until November 30. Hopefully, from January, users will not have to sign in to Flickr with their Yahoo account.
