Chrome maintained the global No. 1 position throughout May
StatCounter has pointed out that Chrome has maintained its "above-the-clock" position compared to Internet Explorer (IE) to become the most used browser in May last year on a global scale.
According to StatCounter, Chrome has 32.43% market share, while IE's market share is 32.12%, and Firefox falls to third place with 25.55% market share.
Previously, StatCounter had announced when Chrome overtook IE at about the first two weeks of May. Later, Google's browser continued to maintain its position, not letting IE 'take the throne.'
This achievement is considered an important mark to confirm the success of Chrome, so far this browser has only 3.5 years of life.
However, it should be said that there are many contradictory views on browser market share statistics, because each research firm has its own survey method.
In addition to StatCounter, another respected researcher, Net Applications, ranks IE as the world's most popular browser with a market share of 54.05%, followed by Firefox (19.71%) and Chrome (19.58%).
