Apple has just released an update for the iPhone series that is up to 11 years old
These updates are compatible with the oldest devices including iPhone 6s/6s Plus (2015), iPad Air 2 (2014), MacBook Air (2015), iMac (2015), and Mac Pro (2013).
These updates do not add new features but focus on patching security holes and improving device performance and stability. Apple also recommends that users using the above mentioned old devices should quickly update them to fix important problems that can be exploited to access information from users.
Unlike competitors, Apple has a long-term software support policy for its products. Android is hardly able to provide such security patches.
With the iOS 18 operating system preparing to launch next month, older iPhone models such as iPhone Xs Max, iPhone XR, iPhone SE or iPhone 11 will all be upgraded.
