According to Ancient Origins, an international archaeological team recently carried out excavations in an ancient burial site in Nakhchivan - Azerbaijan.

They were amazed by a series of graves of women who lived 4,000 years ago: With burial objects of sharp arrows, bronze daggers, maces. they were buried like true warriors. .

Speaking to The Observer, historian Bettany Hughes - who led the research - said some remains showed that bows and arrows were widely used by women of a mysterious tribe.

That is shown by the defects on the finger joints that show that they have practiced strenuously with bows and arrows, which cannot be explained by any other activity.

Their pelvises were also more extended, suggesting they may have spent a lot of time in the saddle.

In addition, they discovered a semi-precious stone called carnelian in some of the tombs, often associated with high priestesses or goddesses, suggesting that these tombs may not only have been burials of female warriors. soldiers, but also female generals.

The oldest woman in the tombs died when she was about 45-50 years old, while the youngest female warrior was 12-13 years old.

The importance of this finding is enhanced when considered with previous discoveries.

In 2019, the tomb of four female warriors buried with arrowheads and spears was discovered in Russia. Previously, the remains of a woman killed in battle with an arrow stuck in her leg were exhumed in Armenia, a neighboring country of Azerbaijan.

In the early 1990s, near the Kazakh border, the remains of another female warrior were unearthed, resting with a dagger.

All of these tombs are very ancient, up to thousands of years old, accidentally assembled into a picture in which many female warriors roamed the Eurasian steppe, fighting like men. died in battle and was buried with the same honor as male warriors.

So, the Amazon warrior women are not only mythical, but they are more numerous than modern people think.
