6 steps to block, block website with TP-Link router
And configuring, managing and using the TP Link router has also become simpler as the company develops and provides a diverse system of functions for TP Link products. More specifically, the WiFi transceiver line and TP Link's standard N-Link and Dual-Band routers have a nice function, which is Internet Access Control - we will introduce more specifically in the lower part of the article.
1. Internet A What is C ontrol ?
We can understand that it is a function to control access to certain websites, IP addresses or domains through configuring the router. With TP Link router products, users have the flexibility to choose and use some support functions such as Host List, Target List and Schedule to do this.
2. Steps to proceed:
What is the first step? That is to access the router's admin line via the Default Gateway (for the TP Link router, the default is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, user / pass: admin / admin ), the other way is to enter the following path directly Browser URL: http://tplinklogin.net
- To know the Default Gateway you are accessing, select Run> type cmd> Enter> type ipconfig> Enter
Enter the router administrator account (user and pass)
Next, select Access Control> Host> Add New :
Select the Address Ip , enter the description information in the Host Description section, then enter the address of the IP range in which you want to prevent access. As an example here, the router's IP range is in the range 192.168.77.2 until 192.168 / 77.62, so all devices within this IP range will be restricted access when we have finished step.
Click Save, and we will have:
Next, go to Access Control> Target> Add New :
In the Mode section, select Domain Name, enter the description information in the Target Description box, and enter some website addresses that you want to block. As an example here is any domain containing keywords like movies3s, phimmoi, hayhaytv and blogtruyen:
Note that you do not need to enter the full website address (eg http://www.phim3s.net but only movies 3 instead)
Then click Save. The setting in Target will look like the image below:
Next, select Access Control> Rule, you should choose Enable Internet Access Control , and notice there are 2 options:
- Allow the packets specified by any enabled access control policy to pass through the Router: Allows the website, domain in the Target section to be accessed
- Deny the packets specified by any enabled access control policy to pass through the Router: Prevent access to websites, domains in the Target section
Click Save
Also, you can see that the entire rule, host and target have been set in the router. As an example here, we have not yet assigned the Target list above, so we have to do one more step. Click Add New and set up as shown:
Give the Rule a new name, select the Host and Target values in the list (since we have set up the steps above).
Click Save , and you can check again by accessing the websites and domains entered in the Target section above. This is our result:
Good luck!
