Windows 10 only has 2 more years of support left

The Steam hardware survey also shows that Windows 10 accounts for 57.97%, being the most popular version of Windows users on Steam. Windows 11 with a usage rate of 37.43% is the next most popular version.

So, from October 2025 onwards, what will happen to PCs that continue to run on Windows 10?

The answer is that you can then continue to use this Windows 10 operating system as you can still use Windows 7. Windows is not a subscription-based operating system, so even if Microsoft stops supporting users, it always continues to work. Users will not be forced to switch to Windows 11 or Windows 12. Currently, many users still run Windows 7, 8 and even XP on their computers even though these operating systems have long been discontinued. .
