The latest version of Windows Server beta contains Linux Container support
It seems that Microsoft and Linux are slowly moving from enemy positions to infrastructure allies. In a Windows blog post on Wednesday, Microsoft revealed that the Windows Server 1709 beta will support Linux containers (virtualization technology LXC).

Now, Microsoft is shaking hands with Linux in a virtualized (container) environment. Patrick Lang said: This feature uses Hyper-V isolation to run Linux kernel with operating system enough to supply containers. We have worked hard to build this technology with new features in Hyper-V, working with the Linux community and contributing to the open source Moby project on Docker technology.
According to ZDNet's Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols, this feature will be available to users around October this year.
Supporting Linux containers in Windows Server is a logical step for Microsoft to build resources for the new generation of infrastructure.
