Vevo music video service is hacked to leak large amounts of internal data

The hacker group OurMine continued to appear and this time they attacked the popular music video service Vevo.

As you know, Vevo is a joint venture between Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Abu Dhabi Media Group, Warner Music Group and Google's Alphabet Company. This music video service is extremely popular and receives collaboration from many major companies.

Unfortunately, OurMine's hacker group has captured Vevo's sensitive data including internal documents, videos and brochures after hackers successfully compromised its servers.

Later, the hacker group sent stolen documents (about 3.12 TB) from Vevo to their website at the end of last Thursday. Although it was unclear what caused OurMine to hack Vevo, the group noted on its website that the group only warned about the violation privately, but when one of Vevo's employees responded unfriendly then the secret data has been published outside.

According to information from Variety, stolen files include notes about about 90 artists such as Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Madonna, Calvin Harris, Ariana Grande, Georgia Georgia Line, One Direction, Sia, The Weeknd, and U2.

It is still unclear how long it takes the hacker group to gain access to Vevo's system, how they access the server or whether they have access to additional information such as finance, its email password.

Vevo has confirmed this security incident and said the company may have been breached data through Linkedin. We have solved the problem and are investigating the level. Besides, the company also confirmed that the leak information does not affect the security of offices in the UK.

This hacker group has attacked companies and celebrities such as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, Game of Thrones .
