The blockbuster John Wick game is coming soon.

After years of speculation and fan requests, Lionsgate has officially confirmed that a AAA John Wick game is in development. The announcement came during the company's Q2 2025 earnings call in November 2025, when Chairman Adam Fogelson revealed that both big-budget games based on John Wick and Saw are in the works.

 

This marks a major shift for Lionsgate, moving from simple licensing deals to investing in large-scale, high-quality games. The studio aims to keep audiences engaged with its brands long-term as theatrical releases end.

Back in 2023, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer told investors that the company believed it could create a "hit AAA game based on John Wick." The John Wick franchise has grossed over $1 billion globally, making it one of Lionsgate's most valuable assets.

John Wick previously received a game adaptation in 2019, the strategy game John Wick Hex. While it received fairly positive reviews, it didn't deliver the large-scale action experience fans were hoping for. The upcoming AAA project is expected to deliver visually stunning action sequences, recreating the signature gunfight style from the film series.

Based on the earnings report release date in November 2025 and the development progress, gamers will receive official information in 2026, possibly at popular gaming events such as the Game Awards, Summer Game Fest, or Gamescom.
