Alune TFT Set 11 Build: Items, Team and Positioning

An archived TFT Set 11 Alune guide covering her Umbra and Invoker traits, item priorities, reroll decisions, team structure and positioning.

Table of Contents

Alune was a 3-cost Umbra Invoker carry in Teamfight Tactics Set 11: Inkborn Fables. This archived guide explains the original composition, items and positioning. Set 11 is no longer the standard live set, so current champion statistics and item balance may differ if the set returns in a revival mode.

Alune's role in Set 11

Alune dealt magic damage through the enemy row with the highest combined health, reduced the magic resistance of enemies hit and provided attack speed to allies in her row. That made her most useful as a backline carry with a durable frontline: repeated casts softened several targets while helping another damage dealer.

Her Set 11 traits were Umbra and Invoker. Umbra supplied shields to units placed on moonlit hexes and executed low-health enemies, while Invoker generated mana over time. The original article's translated names “Darkness” and “Sorcerer” referred to these traits.

PriorityExamplesPurpose
ManaSpear of Shojin, Blue BuffHelps Alune cast repeatedly.
Ability powerArchangel's Staff, Rabadon's DeathcapImproves spell damage, especially in longer fights.
Damage utilityJeweled Gauntlet, Morellonomicon, Giant SlayerAdds critical spell damage, anti-healing or damage against high-health targets.

Choose one mana item first, then adapt the remaining slots to your components and lobby. Morellonomicon is less valuable when another unit already applies anti-healing. Do not leave essential defensive components unused merely to chase three perfect Alune items.

Umbra reroll composition

A typical board used the six Set 11 Umbra units: Darius, Yorick, Yone, Alune, Sylas and Sett. Alune supplied magic damage while Yone or Sylas pressured other parts of the board. Yorick and Sylas could hold frontline items; Sett was the late-game addition.

  • Early game: use upgraded units and an item holder rather than weakening the board to preserve a rigid trait list.
  • Mid game: add Alune and Yone, activate Umbra, and build a real frontline before adding extra damage.
  • Reroll decision: slow-roll for 3-star Alune only when you have several copies, enough health and no heavily contested opponent. Otherwise keep Alune at 2 stars and level for higher-cost units.
  • Late game: add utility, crowd control or a secondary carry in the remaining slots. The best choice depends on emblems and augments.

Invoker variation

The alternative emphasized Invoker to accelerate casting. It needed a stronger independent frontline, commonly built around Annie and other durable units. This route made sense when Invoker units and ability-power items appeared naturally; forcing it without upgraded tanks left Alune exposed.

Positioning Alune

Keep Alune in the back row and scout both enemy boards and your own moonlit Umbra hexes. Her row-based attack-speed benefit rewards grouping useful allies with her, but a tight clump can be punished by area damage. Move the carry away from likely assassins or divers and place your strongest tank where it can delay the largest group of enemies.
