The ThinkPad and Novel brand of notebook manufacturers is expected today to present at the LinuxWorld Conference the ThinkPad T60p is preinstalled with the latest version of Novell's operating system - Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 (SLED) version .
The ThinkPad product line comes pre-installed with the Suse Linux operating system, targeting the market share of users who are engineers or advanced users. However, all users can purchase this product at Lenovo's official website, Bill Iori - Global product manager for ThinkPad T Series.
One of the reasons for Novell and Lenovo's decision to release the ThinkPad T60p is because the Linux operating system kernel has received better support of laptop-friendly technologies, Iori said.
Novell and Lenovo will ensure the SLED version of the operating system is perfectly compatible on the mobile environment and make good use of Lenovo's ThinkVantage technology.
The reference price for the ThinkPad T60p stands at around $ 3,099.
