Storm worm landed on the Internet

A huge wave of Storm worm variants is flooding Internet users' mailboxes worldwide.

Yesterday, experts counted about 142 million e-mails containing URLs that led to sites infected with malware.

Peter Lorant, director of security firm Postini, warned of the virus, saying that the email containing the worm sent an electronic card to the recipient and tempted them to activate the URL to see if it was infected.

' This is Stom's second attack this month. The first attack took place from 2-7 to 9-7 with about 123 million e-mails, three times more than two years ago , "Lorant said.

According to Lorant, malicious web hosting sites have been developed more widely by the author. So to ensure your own safety before this outbreak, users have to learn to be careful before any attachments in email, even if they are sent from someone you know. Also update your antivirus software to protect it.
