Sniper Ranking in COD Warzone

Call of Duty: Warzone has a massive arsenal of weapons for you to try out, each with its own place in this meta. While the AR (Assault Rifle) is still the best class for most engagements, and the SMG (Submachine Gun) is effective at close range, those who want to one-shot their opponents from afar can try a more unique option.

 

That is the Sniper Rifle, after AR and SMG, is one of the most spammed items in Warzone, out of the game in taking down enemies from the rooftop, although one shot-one kill but will require players to have the skills to use it effectively.

Snipers are still the imba picks in the current long-range meta, and while each sniper rifle has its own strengths, some are definitely more out of the meta than others. Here's a tier list of the best Sniper Rifles currently available in Warzone.

S-Tier Sniper Rifles (Divine)

The HDR beast is not only the top Sniper Rifle in the game, but also one of the most sought-after in all of Warzone. While it doesn't have the fastest bullet speed in its slot, behind the LR 7.62 and LW3A1 Frostline, the recent damage buffs have allowed players to focus their ping max on increasing bullet speed, creating a build that maintains its damage output while minimizing bullet drop. This makes it a one-shot headshot at all ranges, and while it's not the fastest option, it's still significantly faster than the bad guys from Modern Warfare 2 and 3.

LW3A1 Frostline

The LW3A1 Frostline may not have the best range, and in terms of ADS and sprint-to-fire speed, it's pretty much on par with the other options. However, it still stands out as a top-notch Sniper Rifle, offering significantly better ammo velocity and a faster rate of fire, perfect for spamming bursts after missing the first headshot. Its mobility also balances well between super-light snipers and heavy hitters. And if built correctly, it can even one-shot headshots at up to 80 meters, making it a formidable contender.

While technically an MR from Modern Warfare 3, the Kar98k still proves to be one of the best Sniper Rifle alternatives in Warzone. This classic weapon may not have top-tier range or the highest bullet velocity, but it's effective in close-to-medium range engagements. With impressive ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds, the Kar98k is lightning fast, perfect for those who want to get their quickscope out of the way. Its damage profile is also solid, allowing for one-shot headshots up to 67 meters with the right build.

A-Tier Sniper Rifles (Powerful)

LR 7.62

The LR 7.62 shares many similarities with the LW3A1 Frostline, with the same damage output, but falls behind in ADS and sprint-to-fire speed. However, the LR 7.62 makes up for its slower handling with a blistering bullet speed and higher overall accuracy. With a proper build, the LR 7.62 is capable of one-shot headshots up to 96 meters, giving it great long-range potential. While it doesn't have the same damage as the HDR, it still shares a few nice perks with the LW3A1 Frostline: low bullet drop and faster reload speed.

The MORS monster is definitely one of the weirdest Sniper Rifles in Warzone, making a comeback from Advanced Warfare, but it's a big damage beast. MORS has a single-shot system, each bullet must be manually loaded after each shot, essentially nerfing reload time. With the right build, MORS is also capable of one-shot headshots at all ranges, while minimizing bullet drop to a minimum. However, MORS is not the fastest Sniper Rifle, leaning more towards raw damage than mobility.

There was a time when the KATT-AMR was one of the most overpowered sniper rifles in Warzone, and that still holds true in terms of damage. The KATT-AMR is one of the few weapons that can one-shot-one-kill at all ranges without increasing range, allowing players to maximize their efforts on increasing the gun's bullet velocity and handholdability. However, it's arguably the slowest option in the Sniper Rifle slot, and with other options that retain headshot potential and are much faster, there's not much reason to try it hard at the moment.

Victus XMR

There was a time when the Victus XMR was a great choice, and while some players can still successfully try hard with it today, it is not the ultimate Sniper Rifle. The Victus XMR is often quite slow to control, despite its heavy damage output. The Victus XMR is not the best Sniper Rifle to use at rooftop range, but with a solid build, players can get kills with the Victus XMR from up to 86 meters away.

FJX Imperium

The FJX Imperium has a few perks that make it a solid Sniper Rifle. Players can also kit the weapon to have extremely high bullet speed, putting this sniper at the top of the slot. Damage-wise, this weapon is a bit weak, with a similar damage profile to the Victus XMR, but only has one-shot headshot potential up to 68 meters when maxed out for range and bullet speed.

XRK Stalker

Closing out the B-Tier is the XRK Stalker, another weapon that has a relatively similar damage output to both the FJX Imperium and the Victus XMR. In terms of speed, the XRK Stalker is relatively slow, serving the same purpose as the Victus XMR. However, in terms of long-range power, the XRK Stalker is definitely on the lower end, with a maximum one-shot-one-kill potential of just 68 meters.

C-Tier Sniper Rifles (OK)

C-Tier sniper rifles typically serve a small segment of the Call of Duty: Warzone community, but they aren't the most meta choices right now. While some players may have moderate success with these weapons, they're generally not recommended unless a player is attempting a specific challenge or is just looking for skins.
