Samsung claims not to slow down old smartphones
The Italian antitrust agency has made the accusation, two phone companies, Apple and Samsung, use software updates to slow down users' phones. The allegation came after Apple admitted to slowing down old iPhones (iPhone 6, 6S, SE and iPhone 7) to limit the sudden power failure due to poor battery life.
According to the Korea Herald, the Korean phone company denies the allegation. A Samsung spokesman confirmed that Samsung did not release any software updates to older models to slow down the device.
After Apple acknowledged deliberately reducing iPhone performance, the company faced a series of lawsuits claiming billions of dollars from many individuals and organizations. Apple had to apologize to its customers and launch an iPhone battery replacement program from $ 79 to $ 29, making it lower.
