RapidDrive accelerates hard drive to 66%
The technology for this laptop has been demonstrated by Lenovo (China).
RapidDrive combines both SSD and HDD drives as a 2.5-inch hard drive. This new product has the advantage of speed like an SSD, allowing Windows to start many times faster as well as with other software applications. In addition, the new hard drive can store up to 1 TB.
The video compares the speed between two laptops, on the left is a laptop using RapidDrive and the right one uses a normal mechanical hard drive.
Lenovo plans to use a new technology hard drive for the Y460 and Y560, which is expected to be available in February.
