Pinterest allows users to try authentic makeup

Pinterest has launched a new feature called Try On, which uses augmented reality (AR) technology to allow users to try makeup before buying. This tool will allow you to try out different brands and nuances before you spend money on a product.

Millions of people use Pinterest for inspiration and many people buy products through social networking sites. The problem with all online shopping websites is that customers are not able to try the products before buying them. But now, things are different.

How does Pinterest's augmented reality feature work?

Pinterest published Try On in a post on Pinterest Newsroom. According to Pinterest, Try On is designed to help Pinner discover his own style and shop on Pinterest. This is done by using augmented reality technology to allow users to try makeup in the most authentic way.

Try On allows you to try different makeup products, then, make a decision whether or not to buy them through the retailer's website. To use Try On, open Pinterest camera while searching, then click Try On . A Try On button will also appear on selected products.

You can swipe to shop from specific brands, including Estée Lauder, Sephora, Neutrogena and L'Oreal. There are various shades that suit all skin tones, and Pinterest won't use filters to smooth out the skin or change its appearance in any way.

How to use Pinterest and virtual makeup application

Try On is currently available in the United States on the Pinterest app for Android and iOS. It initially only allows you to try lipstick, but different makeup types will be available soon. Try On will also be available in other countries and on different platforms in the near future.
