According to Neowin , in March 2013, Microsoft announced that it will close the Windows Live Messenger service, but the Chinese market alone is still available to users. However, with the latest announcement from Microsoft (on the evening of 29 August , Vietnam time ), Windows Live Messenger will be deactivated completely on October 31.
Thus, Windows Live Messenger users in China are also forced to switch to Microsoft's Skype service, ending the 15-year existence of the Windows Live Messenger service globally.
