Minecraft: How to Get and Use Cactus Flowers

Cactus Flowers are the newest flower added to Minecraft. It seems like every recent update brings more flowers. After Wild Flowers and Eyeblossom Flowers, we now have Cactus Flowers, which are just as beautiful and great for decoration.

But how do you find them? And can you use them for anything other than decoration? In this guide, we'll share everything you need to know about Cactus Flowers in Minecraft.

How to get Cactus Flowers in Minecraft

To "acquire" Cactus Flowers, you will have to travel to one of these four biomes:

1. Badlands
2. Eroded Badlands
3. Wooded Badlands
4. Deserts

Once you get there, you should look for Cactus because Cactus Flowers grow on top of them. They are easy to spot because of their bright pink color. But one thing to note: not all cacti have flowers. There is only about a 25% chance that a cactus will flower. However, the taller the cactus, the better your chances.

Here's how it works:

When a cactus is only 1 or 2 blocks tall, there is only a 10% chance that a flower will grow on top instead of the cactus continuing to grow. But if the cactus is 3 or more blocks tall, the chance increases to 25%. And yes, the flower needs a little 'breathing room'. It will only grow if there is space on all four sides of the cactus.

Furthermore, Minecraft fans will find more naturally occurring cacti growing in the Desert than in the three Badlands biomes. And like Fallen Leaves, you can destroy and collect Cactus Flowers with your bare hands or with any tool.

What is Cactus Flower used for in Minecraft?

Cactus Flowers are primarily used to create dyes in Minecraft, much like the Eyeflower from the "Bundles of Bravery" update. Since the flower is pink, it will give you pink dye. To do this, you will need a crafting table. Players who do not have a crafting table can make one using four wooden planks. Once ready, place the Cactus Flowers on it, and you will receive pink dye.

Another interesting use for Cactus Flowers is to feed bees. If you hold a flower, bees will start following you. You can feed the bees to put them in 'love' mode, and before long, they will produce babies.
