The plan to diversify to not depend on Samsung, as a supplier of display screens for the iPhone, is having problems. The Wall Street Journal reported an attempt to bring LG Display's OLED display to the iPhone that is having trouble. Apple has yet to decide whether LG will be the second supplier of OLED displays for its iPhone.

Analysts have always warned that Apple needs to quickly find a supplier of OLED displays for other iPhones, in addition to Samsung. Currently Apple is using Samsung's OLED screen for the iPhone X product line. The fact that Apple depends on a single supplier makes Samsung control the price of the screen Apple bought and there are no alternatives.

LG uses OLED screen for V30 but the quality is not really good.

LG also offers OLED display for Pixel 2 XL but getting good screen is also due to bad luck. LG is currently leading in the world of OLED displays for TVs but with mobile screens, it seems that they still have to work hard.
