This mini laptop is developed by the makers of the Hand 386 retro gaming pocket PC and the Book 8088 compact notebook.
The Pocket 386 is equipped with a larger 7-inch IPS LCD display with a wider 16:9 aspect ratio. Users can switch to 4:3 through the menu if they want the authentic experience.
The device has the same configuration as Hand 386, with 386 SX 40MHz chip, 8MB RAM, removable VGA card and Yamaha sound card.
The computer does not have a classic touchpad or trackpoint to control the mouse. However, users can use the arrow keys to move the cursor and the question mark and Shift keys on either side of the up arrow key to click left and right.
The Pocket 386 also has PS/2 and VGA ports, allowing you to connect additional old-fashioned ball mice and CRT monitors to the device, LPT port connector, Serial + TTL-RS232 converter and 12 volt charger.
The Pocket 386 will initially come with Windows 3.11 pre-installed, but the system can be upgraded to Windows 95.
Pocket 386 only has compact dimensions of 210 x 122 x 30mm. The device comes in two colors: black and transparent white. Users can also easily remove the covers to access the battery, sound card, and RAM.
Pocket 386 has a list price of 300 USD, but is currently discounted to only 187 USD.
