iPhone users urged to disable iMessage because of zero-day vulnerability
E-wallet company Trust Wallet announced on X the morning of April 16, urging iOS users to disable iMessage to avoid hackers taking control through a zero-day vulnerability.
Trust Wallet said that it has reliable sources from the Dark Web that hackers can exploit zero-day vulnerabilities targeting iMessage to take control of iPhones without users clicking on any links.
According to Trust Wallet, all iPhone cryptocurrency wallets with iMessage enabled are at risk. Trust Wallet CEO Eowyn Chen said the vulnerability is being sold on the Dark Web for $2 million.
Apple has not yet commented on the above information.
However, according to experts, iOS users should proactively protect themselves and should turn off iMessage while waiting for preventive measures because this is a serious vulnerability that can allow hackers to take full control of the device. . To disable iMessage on iPhone, users can go to Settings -> select Messages -> select Turn off iMessage.
