How to Change Your Name in PUBG Mobile with a Rename Card

Renaming a PUBG Mobile character requires a Rename Card, sometimes labeled an ID Card. Open Inventory, select the card, choose Use, enter an available name that follows the rules, and confirm. The card is consumed only when the change succeeds, but availability, price, and rename cooldown can change, so read the current confirmation screen.

Before changing the name

• Copy the character ID and current name in case you need account support later.
• Tell regular teammates about the planned change so they do not remove the account.
• Choose a name that is easy to type and recognize.
• Avoid impersonation, harassment, personal contact details, and text that violates PUBG Mobile's naming rules.
• Do not buy a card or UC through an unofficial seller.

A character ID is a more dependable identifier than a display name because names can change and may contain look-alike characters.

Use a Rename Card

From the lobby, open Inventory.

Open the items or crate section and look for a Rename Card or ID Card. The older interface is shown below:

Select the card and tap Use.

Enter the desired name. Use ordinary letters and numbers when possible; decorative Unicode characters can make the account hard for friends to search and may not render consistently.

Review spelling, capitalization, and spacing, then confirm.

If the game rejects the name, it may already be taken, contain unsupported characters, violate a filter, exceed the length limit, or be blocked by a rename cooldown. Make a small, readable change rather than adding a long string of invisible or confusing symbols.

How to get a Rename Card

Rename Cards may be offered through beginner or progression rewards, events, inventory bundles, or the in-game shop. The old guide referred to a specific early mission and a fixed shop path; those details are not guaranteed in the current version.

Search the Shop's items or miscellaneous section and check current event rewards before spending UC. Confirm that the item is a permanent Rename Card rather than a temporary coupon or another type of ID item.

If the new name does not appear immediately

1. Return to the lobby and open the profile.
2. Restart the game if the old name remains cached.
3. Ask a friend to check the character ID, not only the friends-list label.
4. Wait for the current cooldown or server synchronization period shown by the game.
5. Contact in-game customer support if the card was consumed but the confirmed name never appears.

Do not pay a stranger to “force” a name update. Support staff will not need your password or one-time login code to investigate an item transaction.

Make the account easy for friends to find

After the rename, share the new display name and character ID through a trusted channel. Friends can use Add Friend search, while people from a recent match can also use the social history described in the recent-teammate guide.

If search fails, verify the regional version, exact character ID, capitalization, and any spaces. The global, regional, and VNG-published versions may not expose every account in the same way.

Rename Card versus appearance changes

A Rename Card changes the public character name. It does not change the face, hair, gender presentation, outfit, or character model. Those options are covered in the PUBG Mobile appearance guide.

The safest rename is readable, policy-compliant, and easy to share. Record the character ID first, use a legitimate card from the game, review the confirmation carefully, and update teammates after the change.
