New laptop models of Pavilion and ProBook series, equipped with 2-core and 4-core A-Series chips that AMD is expected to officially announce this month. These laptops are aimed at personal and business users.

AMD's A-Series chips are faster and use power more efficiently than previous processors like Phenom, Athlon and Sempron. New processors integrate CPU and graphics processors in one chip.

HP is also updating its new laptop lines with Intel's latest Core chip, based on the Sandy Bridge microarchitecture, and will be sold in January 2012. Like A-Series chips, Sandy Bridge chips are also integrated graphics processor and CPU into one chip. Analysts say AMD's graphics technology is superior, while Intel's CPU technology is better. Like other vendors, HP equips both AMD and Intel chips for their laptops, to meet the diverse configuration needs for the market.

HP said that the new ProBook and Pavilion laptops have longer battery life than the previous models. These new models will be sold in many markets around the world with many different configurations, though the company has not yet announced a specific launch date. The A-Series chips in these new laptop models have CPU speeds ranging from 2.3GHz to 2.5GHz, and the Radeon graphics processor from 1.4GHz to 2.1GHz.

The Pavilion G4 , G6 and G7 models are priced at $ 399 (~ 8.2 million), targeting popular individual customers with basic office and gaming needs. HP does not provide other configuration details and battery life of these notebook models.

Pavilion DV4 , DV6 and DV7 models are priced from 579 USD (~ 11.9 million), designed for entertainment purposes. HP said the laptops provide twice the graphics performance compared to previous integrated graphics technology.

ProBook S-Series notebooks for corporate customers cost from $ 519 (~ 10.7 million). Powerful Radeon graphics engine allows these new laptops to run 'heavy' multimedia applications, in addition to conventional applications. For example, browsers will download Adobe Flash videos for processing on the graphics processor. The initial tasks will be processed by the CPU, usually slower in the process of graphics processing.

ProBook 4435S and 4436S models have 14- inch screens, while the 4535S model has a 15.6 'display. These laptops support up to 8GB of RAM and a 750GB hard drive; has a USB 3.0 port, HDMI (high-definition multimedia interface), and Microsoft's Windows 7 OS. These models weigh from 2.07kg to 2.33kg and do not have an optical drive.

The AMD processor is optional for the ProBook S-Series, which includes a 2.3GHz 4-core or A6-3400MX A6-3400MX processor.

The ProBook B-Series notebooks range from $ 679 (~ 14 million), equipped with 14 'screens for model 6465B, and 15.6' for the 6565B model. These laptops have the option of a quad-core 2.5GHz quad-core A8-3510MX, A6-3410MX 2.3GHz 4-core or A4-3310MX 2.5GHz.
