How to Save Red Dead Redemption Gameplay

Use the Hideout House

Find the nearest shelter. If you see a house icon on the map, it is a hideout house. A blue icon shows that the shelter has not been purchased or rented. A green icon shows that you have purchased or rented the property for the night.

Tie the horse. If you are sitting on a horse, your wish is that the horse does not run around while you are sleeping. For peace of mind, tie your horse in front of the house. Not every refuge has a place to tie up a horse.

Approach the bed. Go into hiding and approach the bed. You can only stay in bed if you have bought or rented a hideaway.

Click the Save button. When standing next to the bed, you will see a notification that you can save your game progress. Press the triangle button (for PS3) or Y (for Xbox 360) to start saving gameplay. The character Marston will lie in bed.

Save game. When you lie down, time will fly by 6 hours. You can save the game or click cancel to wake up. You can use this method to make time in the game go faster without having to save the game progress in the usual way.

Select the save game file. If you decide to save the game, you will be asked which file you want to select to save the game. You can overwrite a previously saved file or create a new file.

Use of Campsites

Find a spacious area. To create a campsite, you need to find an area that is flat and spacious but not in a town, settlement, or hideout. If you try to set up a campsite in an area that doesn't allow it, you'll see a line asking you to find another location.

Open your bag. You can create a simple campsite without having to buy anything. You can open the Satchel by pressing Select (for PS3) or Back (for Xbox 360).

Select Kits. Here are your tools. Basic Campsite will appear in the list. You can buy an improved campsite (Improved Campsite) or save. Select a Campsite from your Kit to set up camp.

You may accidentally encounter a campsite set up by other characters. These spots appear randomly throughout the game. You cannot save gameplay at that camp.

Save your gameplay. When you set up camp, the character will automatically sit down right next to it. You can start the saving process by pressing the triangle (for PS3) or Y (for Xbox 360) button. The character Marston will lie in a sleeping bag.

Save game. When you lie down, time will fly by 6 hours. You can save the game or click cancel to wake up. You can use this method to make time in the game pass faster without having to save the game process in the usual way.
