How to Reset a Linksys Router
Use the Reset button
Turn off the computer.
Unplug the router.
Wait 60 seconds and plug it back in.
Find the small button labeled Reset. This insert button is usually located on the back of the router.
Bend the paper clip straight. We will use a straight paper clip to press the Reset button.
Press and hold the "Reset" button. The "Power" light will flash while you hold down the Reset button.
Newer models will reset after 10 seconds. With older models, you may need to hold down the "Reset" button for about 30 seconds.
Wait for the "Power" light to stop flashing. When the "Power" light stops flashing and lights up completely, the setup process is complete.
Turn on the computer.
Open a web browser to check your Internet connection.
If you still don't have an Internet connection, try restarting your computer.
Use the setup website
Visit http://192.168.1.1 using a web browser. You will go to the router's page.
Enter the username and password in the corresponding fields. If you have not changed this information since purchasing the router, according to the factory default settings, the username will be blank and the password will be admin.
Click Log In .
Click the Administration tab . This tab is at the top of the window.
Click Factory Defaults . It's at the top of the window.
Click Restore Factory Defaults . This button is in the middle of the window.
Wait for the "Power" light to stop flashing. When the "Power" light stays the same, the reset process is complete.
Visit a website using a web browser to check your Internet connection.
