How to Get 10 km Eggs in Pokémon GO

Standard 10 km Eggs are obtained randomly by spinning eligible PokéStops or Gyms while you have room in normal Egg storage. You cannot force a 10 km Egg by visiting a particular location, waiting a set number of hours, or spinning a fixed number of Stops. The practical strategy is to keep a slot open and continue normal spins.

Make room in Egg storage

Pokémon GO does not provide a normal delete button for unwanted Eggs. To create space, place an existing Egg in an Incubator and walk the required eligible distance until it hatches.

The Egg screen separates normal storage from bonus storage used for certain rewards. A free space in the wrong section may not accept a standard PokéStop Egg, so check the layout before spinning.

Spin PokéStops and Gyms

With an open normal slot, spin a PokéStop or Gym Photo Disc. An Egg may be included among the rewards, but its distance is random from the currently available pool. Item-storage space and game conditions can affect what you receive, so clear a small amount of item space as well.

Visiting more eligible Stops creates more reward opportunities, but it does not guarantee that the next Egg will be 10 km. Repeatedly spinning the same Stop after its cooldown is not known to provide a special distance advantage.

Do not rely on location or timing myths

Old tips sometimes claim that scenic locations, a route of exactly ten PokéStops, or a two-hour pattern increases the 10 km rate. The game does not display such a method. Without an official in-game rule, treat these claims as coincidence rather than strategy.

Choose a safe public walking route with several Stops because it is efficient and enjoyable—not because a particular landmark supposedly produces better Eggs.

Check the current 10 km hatch pool

Tap a 10 km Egg to view the Pokémon that may hatch from it and their relative rarity tiers. Egg pools change with seasons and events, and the contents are associated with when the Egg was obtained.

A longer-distance Egg does not guarantee a rare, high-IV, or battle-relevant result. The hatch comes from the displayed pool, and multiple species may share the same rarity tier.

Understand other long-distance Eggs

• Adventure Sync Eggs: weekly walking rewards can include Eggs from their own pool when the relevant conditions and storage space are met.
• 12 km Strange Eggs: these are associated with Team GO Rocket Leader rewards, not ordinary PokéStop spins.
• Event Eggs: events may temporarily change Egg pools or hatch-distance bonuses.

These sources use different pools. An Adventure Sync 10 km Egg should not be assumed to contain the same Pokémon as a standard 10 km Egg from a Stop.

Use Incubators efficiently

The unlimited-use Incubator is well suited to repeatedly clearing shorter Eggs. Limited-use Incubators provide the most value when reserved for longer-distance Eggs or an event with a worthwhile hatch pool or distance bonus.

Incubators improve hatching efficiency; they do not change which Pokémon is already assigned to an Egg. Review the possible hatches before spending a premium Incubator.

Before spinning for a 10 km Egg

1. Open Egg storage and confirm a normal slot is available.
2. Check item-storage space.
3. Review any active event affecting Eggs.
4. Spin an eligible PokéStop or Gym.
5. If an Egg drops, inspect its distance and hatch pool.
6. Continue normally if it is not 10 km; there is no guaranteed reroll trick.

The only controllable parts are maintaining space, creating more legitimate spin opportunities, and using Incubators wisely. The distance of a standard Egg drop remains a random result from the active game pool.
