The most efficient stationary catching location is a safe public area where several PokéStops are within interaction range and each can run a Lure Module. Lures add encounters around their PokéStops, while repeated spins replenish items after each Stop's cooldown. Incense and event bonuses can add more opportunities, but no setup guarantees a specific species.

What a PokéStop provides
Spin a PokéStop's Photo Disc to receive eligible items and research. After a successful spin, the Stop changes color and becomes available again after its cooldown. Item rewards depend on factors such as trainer level, available storage, event bonuses, and the game's current reward pool.
Clear some item storage before a long session. A full bag can prevent normal item collection even when the PokéStop is ready to spin.
How Lure Modules work
A Lure Module is attached to a PokéStop and attracts additional Pokémon that nearby players can encounter. Active Lures are visible through an animation around the Stop, and the PokéStop detail page identifies the lure type.
Different Lure Modules can attract different groups of Pokémon and may also enable certain evolutions when the player is within range. Duration can be extended during events, so check the in-game timer and event details.

Choose a good catching location
Look for a cluster of two or more accessible PokéStops around a park, plaza, library, public trail, or other place where playing is permitted. The ideal location has:
- public access during the planned hours;
- a safe place to stand or sit without blocking others;
- multiple PokéStops within a short walking loop;
- reliable mobile data and location accuracy;
- shade, water, and weather protection when necessary;
- no need to cross busy roads repeatedly.
A dense cluster is useful, but safety and permission matter more than the maximum number of Stops.
Set up the session
- Clear Pokémon storage and item storage.
- Stock balls and Berries appropriate to the event or target.
- Check current spawns, event bonuses, and Lure duration.
- Attach a Lure to each selected PokéStop, or coordinate with other players so the cost is shared voluntarily.
- Spin the Stops, catch nearby Pokémon, and repeat the loop after the cooldown.
- Use Incense only if you can meet its current movement or encounter conditions.
Do Lures stack?
Each Lure affects its own PokéStop. Standing within range of several lured Stops can expose you to encounters generated around each one, which is why clusters feel busier. The effects do not combine into one guaranteed high-rarity spawn, and the same Pokémon will not necessarily appear for every player in every feature.
You cannot create a PokéStop instantly
A player cannot place a new PokéStop simply to build a farming spot. Eligible players may be able to nominate real-world locations through the game's nomination system. A nomination must represent an appropriate, accurately located point of interest and pass community review. Approval does not guarantee that the location will become a PokéStop in a particular game.
Do not submit fake, private-residential, unsafe, or inaccessible locations. A good nomination is based on a real place with supporting information—not on the desire for more game items.
Improve efficiency without overspending
- Use free or earned Lures when an event makes them more valuable.
- Coordinate start times so the group benefits from the full active period.
- Prioritize catches with useful Candy, event moves, or research value.
- Use Pinap Berries when extra Candy matters and catch risk is acceptable.
- Stop spinning temporarily if item storage fills with low-priority supplies.
Play responsibly
Do not trespass, play while driving, obstruct entrances, or remain in a location after it closes. Keep sound low, dispose of rubbish, follow local rules, and move if staff or property managers request it.
A well-chosen PokéStop cluster can support a productive catching session, especially during Community Day or another spawn event. Verify the current event rules, prepare storage and supplies, and use Lures where the group can play safely for the full duration.
