How to create impressive Tile in Windows 8?
One of the highlights on Windows 8 compared to previous versions is the appearance of Tiles (application icons arranged like tiles). In addition to the available Tile when installing the application, you can personalize your Start screen by creating Tile in your own style via Obly Tile software.
Obly Tile is a free application for Windows 8. It not only allows you to create Tile to launch an application with its own image and color, but you can also create a Tile for quick access. to a web page, a shared folder on the intranet, a folder or any file on your computer from the Start screen.
After downloading, double-click the OblyTile v0.8.6.exe file to run it without installation.
Step 1 : To create a new Tile, name it in Tile Name (or if you do not want to display the name, tick the Hide Name box ). Then click the three dots in Program Path . There will be 3 options for you here
- Choose file : If you want to create Tile for file
- Choose folder : If you want to create Tile for the folder
- Website URL : If you want to create Tile for the site
Step 2 : If you want to create Tile for an installed application on your computer, click Convert Shotcuts to files button ( left arrow icon ), select the application from the list that appears after that, Obly Tile will automatically Fill in the information like Tile Name, Program Path, Program Arguments (if available) to help you.
Step 3 : If you want to create Tile for quick access to a web page, simply enter the URL of the site ( such as https://quantrimang.com ) into the Program Path section .
After you have selected the Tile object, the next step is to select a large Tile image (Tile one column) in Tile Image ( 120x120 ), a small Tile representation (half column Tile) in Tile Image ( 30x30 ).
Next, if you want to create a Tile to launch an application with Administrator rights, check the Run as administrator option , otherwise choose Single Instance . Done, click the Create Tile button to program to create Tile for you.
Now, if you press the Windows key to switch to the Start screen, you will see the Tile you just created appears there.
