How to Pin and Unpin Tabs in Chrome on Android

To pin a tab in Chrome on Android, open the tab switcher, touch and hold the tab, and select Pin tab if the option is available. On devices with a tab strip, you can also touch and hold the tab there to open its menu.

Pin or unpin a tab

1. Open Chrome and the page you want to keep accessible.
2. Tap the tab-switcher button next to the address bar.
3. Touch and hold the tab, then select Pin tab.
4. To reverse the change, open the pinned tab's menu and choose Unpin tab.

Pinned tabs stay at the left of the tab strip where that interface is shown. Pinning a tab from a group removes it from that group. Google documents the controls in its Chrome Android tab-management guide.

If Pin tab is missing

Update Chrome through its official store listing, reopen it, and check the tab menu again. The interface can vary by device and version. Do not assume that an old Android pinned tabs entry will still exist in chrome://flags; experimental controls can change or disappear.
