Google officially introduces the virtual desktop feature on Chrome OS
Shortly after Pixelbook Go - one of Google's flagship Chrome OS devices hit the market, the manufacturer continued to introduce another important feature on Chrome OS: Virtual Desktop (virtual desktops). ), is expected to be released in the latest update of this operating system platform.
In fact, virtual desktops have also appeared on Chrome OS, but that is in the form of flags. With this official launch, there will be quite a few noticeable changes to the virtual desktops feature, specifically as announced by Google as follows:

With the latest version of Chrome OS, users will be able to create custom workspaces with virtual desktops. Similar to Windows, users will be able to set up a variety of virtual machine environments to cater to specific requirements and tasks, thereby helping to maintain focus and improve work efficiency. You can also access and manage all your virtual desktop environments through the 'Overview' task easily and quickly.
Besides virtual desktops, a few other new features that will appear on the new version of Chrome OS include:
- Click-to-Call: If you're using and connecting your Chromebook to an Android phone, you can make phone calls by clicking directly on the phone number in Chrome browser. This feature is especially useful when you are browsing the web and want to make quick voice calls with the phone number displayed on the computer screen.
- Improve printing features: You can press Ctrl + P to view all compatible printers.
- Faster Feedback: Google really wants you to share your thoughts about Chrome OS, and has added a new dedicated feedback button. This button will appear next to the Power options when you hold the power button.
All of these changes will appear in Chrome OS 78, which will be rolled out to users this week.
