Facebook admits to 'scan' all user messages on the Messenger application

Information from the Messenger application includes messages, links, images, and chats when they are flagged by the administrator of the user, who are scanned again to ensure that the content complies with the company. Otherwise, the message will be locked or unloaded.

Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, when asked about Messenger's private behavior and issues shared with Vox a story about getting a phone call regarding ethnic cleansing in Myanmar. Through the Messenger application, Facebook has detected many people sending messages related to this issue and blocking those messages.

Facebook said, they do not use the data from the message for advertising purposes. Messenger conversations are private, but Facebook will still scan them and use the same tools to prevent abuse in the application to ensure content complies with 'community standards', such as They did on social networks in general.
