Warning signs to take seriously
- The screen or back cover lifts away from the frame.
- The phone rocks on a flat surface because the battery has swollen.

- Do not press on, puncture, bend, or attempt to flatten a swollen phone.

Possible causes include manufacturing defects, physical impact, internal short circuits, heat exposure, water damage, an incorrect or damaged charger, poor-quality replacement parts, and battery aging. It is usually impossible to identify the exact cause safely at home.

- Use the phone maker's charger or a reputable certified charger and cable that support the required standard.
- Replace frayed cables, loose plugs, and damaged adapters.
