Devices running Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update continue to be supported by Microsoft for another year
Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary platform Update will continue to be supported by Microsoft updates, security patches until the end of October 9, 2019.
Under the announced plan, Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 10 Mobile 1607 version (Anniversary Update) from October 21, 2018. But in a recent document, Microsoft decided to support this version for another year. Specifically, the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary platform Update will continue to be supported by Microsoft updates, security patches until the end of October 9, 2019.
During this time, users of this operating system are still entitled to direct support from Microsoft.
This is the second time Windows 10 Mobile has been extended by Microsoft. This move helps old Windows Mobile devices running Windows 10 Anniversary Update version can maintain system stability and ensure security.
Many argue that this move by Microsoft is an attempt to retain users with the platform much longer before it launches a completely new Windows mobile device.
