Conficker.C 'timer' broke out on April 1

Security researchers from CA have discovered that the third variant of the Conficker strain has been 'scheduled' to activate on April 1 next .

Earlier, on March 9, experts from Symantec's security firm also discovered that the Conficker code strain had a third variant called Conficker.c with added protection against detection. and the destruction of all virus killers in the world and the ability to spread faster and speed up the production of virtual domain names up to 50,000 URLs per day.

According to Don DeBolt, CA's security manager, producing such virtual domains makes them better able to hide and when they get infected with a computer, they won't be active and wait until the day comes. The new 1/4 is actually activated simultaneously.

Experts from CA revealed that they had a clue about the origin of this malicious code but could not reveal it at this time.
