Chris Nelson - The spokesman for the University of Utah Health Science Department said Conficker began attacking PCs on the school's network since April 9. Fortunately, Conficker was unable to take away any personal information or medical records of any individual. Nelson said Conficker's attack target is primarily aimed at stealing personal account information, credit card numbers, bank accounts .
The information on how to kill this dangerous computer worm has been sent to all staff and students.
The school's technology department also decided to disconnect some areas of the school for about 6 hours in a row to isolate and destroy Conficker. The team also had to work continuously throughout the weekend to clean up the network.
