Where to Find Conduit Crystal in Subnautica 2

Find Conduit Crystals below the Alien Power Plant, follow the Angel Comb route, harvest nodes with the Sonic Resonator, and collect enough for current upgrades.

Table of Contents

Conduit Crystals in Subnautica 2 are found below 250 meters around the Alien Ruins' Angel Comb, beneath the Alien Power Plant, and on nearby alien ledges. Bring a Tadpole with the Depth Module and a Sonic Resonator: the crystals must be blasted from their nodes before collection.

This guide reflects the Early Access build available at the time of review. Locations, recipes, creature behavior, and terrain may change in later patches.

What Conduit Crystal looks like

The node resembles branching coral coated in silvery or molten-looking material. It protrudes from a ledge or cliff rather than forming an obvious pile on the seafloor. The shape blends into alien structures and dark rock, so search vertical surfaces and approach from several angles.

What to bring

  • Tadpole with Depth Module: the reliable deposits are below the standard 250-meter limit.
  • Sonic Resonator: required to break the crystal node.
  • Scanner: useful for new blueprints and points of interest in the same region.
  • Repair Tool and healing items: the route includes environmental and creature hazards.
  • Food, water, and spare power: the Alien Ruins are far from the starting Lifepod.
  • Beacon: mark a productive ledge for later trips.

Empty unnecessary inventory slots before leaving. If you have not unlocked the Tadpole Depth Module or Sonic Resonator, continue earlier progression instead of attempting a long unsupported dive.

First Conduit Crystal location

  1. Travel to the Alien Ruins Research Base.
  2. From the base, head east-southeast at roughly 120 degrees.
  3. Descend until you see the large purple tube leading toward the Angel Comb crater.
  4. Follow it until a second purple tube branches to the right near alien structures.
  5. Look on the ledge to the left of that structure for a Conduit Crystal node.
  6. Fire the Sonic Resonator at the node, then collect the dropped crystal.

There is another node on a lower ledge toward the Angel Comb crater. Search slowly along the cliff rather than diving directly to the bottom.

Additional crystals near the Angel Comb

From the Angel Comb, follow the purple tube northeast down the ravine. Before the green-glowing pools, examine the right-hand ledges for two more nodes. Other crystals can appear around alien structures and the cliffs beneath the Power Plant.

Use a methodical pattern: choose one wall, scan from top to bottom, then move to the next ledge. Random swimming makes the small metallic branches easy to miss.

How to harvest a node

  1. Park the Tadpole where it will not drift into a hazard.
  2. Check depth, oxygen, power, and nearby creatures.
  3. Aim the Sonic Resonator at the main body of the node.
  4. Fire until the resource breaks free.
  5. Pick up the crystal and check the ledge directly above and below.

If a shot appears to pass through the branches, aim at the darker base where the node meets the rock. Do not keep firing while a creature or teammate is in the line of effect.

How many do you need?

In the reviewed Early Access version, Conduit Crystals are used for the Bioscanner and Feedback Resonator prototype tool modifications. About five crystals cover those current uses. The original list of Improved Fins, Advanced Battery, and Entangled Power Cell uses was not retained because it did not match the verified build.

Check the recipe displayed in your Fabricator or Modification Station before planning the trip. An Early Access patch can change quantities or add recipes. The current route and uses are also documented in this Conduit Crystal location guide.

Common problems

  • No crystals near the Lifepod: the useful deposits are in the deeper Alien Ruins region, not the starting biome.
  • Tadpole warns about depth: install the Depth Module before continuing.
  • Node will not break: use the Sonic Resonator and aim at the base, not only the thin branches.
  • You reached the Angel Comb but see nothing: search the surrounding ledges and follow the purple tubes; do not search only the crater floor.
  • The route feels too dangerous: return with better depth, power, healing, and repair preparation rather than risking the vehicle.

Efficient farming route

Start at the Research Base, collect the first ledge node and the lower node, then follow the purple tube northeast for the pair before the green pools. Mark the area and return once you have enough for the two current upgrades. There is little reason to fill an entire inventory unless a newer patch adds more recipes.
