Asus officially supports Windows 11 on 6th and 7th generation Intel Skylake/Kaby Lake LGA1151 CPUs
Previously, the company also released a full list of motherboard chipsets that it said had Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 built-in, and would technically be able to run. Windows 11.
In that list of chipsets is Intel's Z270. This is Intel's flagship chipset for socket LGA1151. If you don't know, LGA1151 is the predecessor of the current LGA1200 socket that comes with 11th generation Rocket Lake-S processors. The LGA1151 socket supports 6th generation (Skylake-S) and next generation processors. 7th (Kaby Lake-S) from Intel.
Not long ago, Asus also released the latest BIOS version 1501 on some of its ROG Z270 motherboards. On some models like Z270F GAMING, firmware update 1501 is still labeled as 'Beta Version' for the reason that it is 'still in final testing before official release'.
However, for some other models, such as the MAXIMUS IX FORMULA, this appears to be the final version, and the BIOS is described as:
'Supports Windows 11 by default, does not require changing settings in UEFI BIOS'.
Basically, the latest firmware update will now enable TPM, or in this case Intel's PTT (Platform Trust Technology) in the BIOS by default.
There may also be motherboard models from other manufacturers that already have compatible firmware available. Users who are interested will have to manually look up the relevant information in the support list of the corresponding motherboard model on the company's website.
