Android adds 2-earphone audio sharing feature, upgrades Gboard, Emoji Kitchen and Quick Share
Google has just released the September Android update with many new features: sharing audio for 2 headphones at the same time, supporting LE Audio Auracast, Gboard integrating AI text writing, new interface Emoji Kitchen and more convenient Quick Share.
Google has just announced a series of new AI tools and features for Android devices. The September update brings many changes to Emoji Kitchen, Gboard keyboard, Quick Share and especially enhanced Bluetooth support.
Gboard adds AI writing tool
Users can now tap into AI in Gboard to check grammar, correct spelling errors, or change their writing style to formal, informal, expressive, or concise. Google says this feature runs on-device processing, allowing you to request a full-text message to be proofread or rewritten right in the keyboard, without having to open another app.
Emoji Kitchen new interface
Emoji Kitchen – a feature that combines two emojis into one sticker – now has a more intuitive interface. Users can browse the emoji library, save custom stickers to favorites, and discover personalized emoji suggestions.
Share audio on 2 headphones at the same time
Watching movies and listening to music on Android will be more enjoyable thanks to the ability to connect 2 Bluetooth headphones at the same time. This feature works with headphones that support LE Audio when paired with some Samsung, Xiaomi and Google Pixel devices.
In fact, this isn't the first time Android has had a similar feature: Samsung has long equipped Dual Audio to connect two headphones or speakers in parallel.
Broadcast audio with Auracast
Additionally, Google is also allowing you to create 'private audio broadcasts' and share them to groups via QR codes. This feature is based on LE Audio Auracast , which was previously only available for hearing aids.
Now, Auracast has been expanded to Pixel and supported models from Samsung, Xiaomi. The list includes:
- Google Pixel: Pixel 8 and above
- Samsung: Galaxy S23, S24, S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold5, Fold6, Fold7
- Xiaomi: 14T, 14T Pro, 14, 15, 14 Ultra, 15 Ultra, MIX Flip
- POCO: X6 Pro, F6 Pro, F7 Pro, F7 Ultra
Google notes that both your phone and headphones must support LE Audio to share and broadcast audio. 'Everyone can enjoy the same playlist on their own headphones without disturbing others,' the company says.
Quick Share is more convenient
Quick Share is also refined with a progress bar showing the sending and receiving progress, quick options to switch between sending/receiving modes, previewing photos about to be shared, and opening the file just received.
