Every Pixel owner needs to sign up for the new Pixel Care+ plan immediately
Following the launch of the Pixel 10 series , Google also launched a new device protection program called Pixel Care+, which aims to make device repairs cheaper and easier. If you have an eligible device, consider this service plan.
What is Pixel Care+?
Pixel Care+ is Google's new subscription protection plan designed specifically for Pixel devices and is currently only available in the US. Similar to AppleCare+ and Samsung Care+, it offers extended protection beyond your device's standard warranty. Monthly plans are available for up to 60 months, while fixed plans are available for 24 months.
This service plan applies to all Pixel-branded devices, including Pixel phones (Pixel 8 and later), Pixel tablets, Pixel Fold, and watches (Pixel Watch 2 and later), as well as select Fitbit devices (Fitbit Ace LTE, Fitbit Sense 2, Fitbit Versa 4, Fitbit Charge 6, and Fitbit Inspire 3).
Each device has a monthly cost for Pixel Care+, but there's also a two-year flat rate option if you want to pay all at once. For example, the Pixel 10's monthly coverage costs $9/month, while the Pixel 9 Pro's costs $12/month, extendable for up to 60 months. The two-year flat rate costs $179 and $199 for the Pixel 10 and 9 Pro, respectively.
The only downside to Google 's Pixel Care+ plan is that it can only be added within 60 days of purchasing an eligible device. Once that period has passed, you can't enroll your eligible device in the program.
Key benefits of Pixel Care+
Pixel Care+ offers a number of benefits. One of the biggest is free screen repairs, meaning you won't have to pay extra if your screen cracks. It also includes free battery replacements, which is a big plus considering how quickly smartphone batteries degrade over time and the cost of replacements.
Another standout feature is coverage for accidental damage and hardware failures, even after the standard warranty period. And, best of all, Pixel Care+ has no limit on the number of claims you can make for accidental handling damage, such as water damage or other liquids. Whether it's a faulty charging port or a sudden shutdown, you know you're covered. In cases where repairs aren't enough, Google offers fast device replacements (next-day delivery, if available), so you're never left waiting too long for your phone.
You also get priority support from Google experts, ensuring an easy resolution if you have a problem with your device. This can save hours of troubleshooting compared to standard customer service. While the standard plan doesn't include loss and theft protection, you can add it for an additional fee. If you purchase Pixel Care+ with loss and theft protection, you can file up to two claims per year.
Why buy Pixel Care+?
Pixel Care+ is worth it, especially if you own a Pixel smartphone. Pixel phones, like any modern smartphone, are susceptible to damage. That's where Pixel Care+ comes in, showing why a premium warranty is worth it.
This warranty is designed to give you peace of mind by covering the most important issues - cracked screens, dead batteries, and unexpected hardware failures. It covers the types of phone damage that aren't covered by warranty for free.
Without a protection plan, screen repairs can cost hundreds of dollars, and battery replacements aren't cheap. With Care+, these repairs are covered for free, saving you a lot of money in the long run. Another reason to sign up is convenience. If your Pixel can't be repaired, Google can quickly replace it with a working one, minimizing downtime and keeping you connected.
How to sign up for Pixel Care+
Getting started with Pixel Care+ is quick and easy. If you buy your device from the Google Store, you can add Pixel Care+ at checkout. If you have an eligible Pixel, you have up to 60 days from the date of purchase to sign up.
To enroll, visit the Pixel Care+ management page in the Google Store, select your device, and complete your purchase. If you purchased your device from a third-party retailer, you'll need to visit the Pixel Care+ eligibility page , enter your device's IMEI or serial number, then, if eligible, select a plan and enroll.
When you sign up, you'll choose a monthly plan or a 2-year plan. The monthly plan automatically renews every month for up to 60 months unless you cancel, while the 2-year plan is a one-time charge that cannot be extended.
Pixel Care+ is worth every penny, as the benefits you get for the $10 or so price tag far outweigh the cost. While there are ways to protect your device from accidental damage, like adding cases and screen protectors, purchasing a device protection plan ensures that even if something unfortunate happens, you won't have to spend hundreds of dollars to repair or replace your device.
