Acer laptop can automatically convert normal movies to 3D "emulator" movies
The first laptop will be equipped with a 15.6-inch screen that can recognize 3D movies and can also convert movies using different formats to a "fake" 3D format. However, Acer did not say whether this new-generation laptop supports games in 3D space.
According to Campbell Kan, vice president of Acer mobile computing, users will wear special glasses at first to create three-dimensional effects on 3D screens. The screen version without glasses is still being developed. However, it seems that Acer is facing many difficulties in producing hardware so Mr. Kan does not know exactly the date of this type of display.
Acer's 3D laptop will be one of Acer's first computers running Windows 7.
Mr. Kan, besides 3D laptops, Acer also plans to produce the 3rd-generation Aspire One netbook in mid-2010.
