Watch 4K nature documentaries for free with the YouTube TV app
Many people are absolutely fascinated by nature documentaries, especially when the environment is further away from where they live. They love to learn about nature, flora and fauna (many of which are strange and bizarre), climate, and evolution. What they really want is to subscribe to every streaming service that has nature documentaries, but without paying for them.
However, there is a solution to this problem - a legal platform to use and provide a myriad of documentaries in 4K format . And it happens to be an app that almost everyone you know uses, and it has a TV app too. You don't even need an expensive 4K setup to enjoy it.
YouTube has tons of 4K nature documentaries
Unsurprisingly, YouTube turns out to be a great option for free 4K nature documentaries. The platform has thousands of videos on a variety of topics, including African animals, underwater marine life, and global warming. Just search for '4K nature documentaries' and you'll find plenty of options.
Of course, using the YouTube app on a Smart TV won't give you the same filtering capabilities, so you'll have to be much more specific when searching for a specific topic. By the way, if you're using YouTube in a browser, you can target videos by 4K resolution, length, or even find a playlist to watch nature documentaries all day.
Many popular nature documentaries come directly from YouTube, such as BBC Earth's Travel to the Depths of Our Mysterious Oceans, which is shot in stunning 4K, making for some fantastic underwater footage. You can also find plenty of nature documentaries featuring Sir David Attenborough as a narrator and presenter, which are a delight to listen to.
Favorite 4K Nature Documentary Channels
Speaking of Sir David Attenborough and BBC Earth, there are a couple of YouTube channels that many people enjoy rewatching. More importantly, they are reliable sources and produce some incredibly high quality nature documentaries in 4K. If you're not sure where to start, try these channels first.
BBC Earth
Arguably most famously, BBC Earth is responsible for the Planet Earth and Blue Planet series, so the studio's ability to capture nature in its most natural state is unparalleled. Best of all, BBC Earth's YouTube channel has thousands of nature documentaries that are completely unrelated to their previous work.
Space and Science
Space is part of nature, too! When you get tired of watching nature documentaries set on Earth, many people like to turn to the Space and Science YouTube channel. One day you learn about the dangers of colliding black holes, and the next day it's about cassowaries. Space and Science devotes an hour to a particular animal, while BBC Earth focuses on one animal for a few minutes and then moves on to another.
Our World
Now, on Our World's YouTube channel, you'll get content that's comparable to Space and Science and BBC Earth. Turn to Our World when you're interested in short-form content. You'll still find plenty of videos that are 45 minutes to 3 hours long, but there are also short videos that are as short as 20 to 25 minutes. One of our favorites is about the wonders of the underground!
