Kochava, an application analyst, discovered two Chinese companies, Cheetah Mobile and Kika Tech, abused their phone rights to block advertisers' money.
Specifically, 8 applications of Cheetah Mobile discovered by Kochava include Clean Master, Security Master, CM Launcher 3D, Battery Doctor, Cheetah Keyboard, CM Locker, CM File Manager and Kika Keyboard. Some of these applications have been preinstalled on the phone before being sold so they are no stranger to users. On Google Play, these applications have over 2 billion downloads with about 700 million users using it daily.
According to Kochava's report, the two companies abused their powers to automatically click on advertisements and install applications with the aim of increasing 'commissions'.
