9 malicious applications on Google Play, if installed, should be removed immediately
Recently, Trend Micro security researchers discovered a series of optimization applications, speeding up phones on Google Play containing AndroidOS_BadBooster.HRX malware.
The application will start connecting to the remote server as soon as the user installs, then displays ads and downloads malicious files with about 3,000 different variants.
In addition to displaying ads, these malicious applications also steal user data including passwords, bank accounts, social networking accounts, etc.
The name of these malicious applications is quite similar to popular applications like Quick Game Centers, Super Cleaner . and looks harmless to trick users into downloading.
These malicious apps have been around since 2017 and have been downloaded more than 470,000 times. Currently, these malicious applications have been removed by Google from Google Play. If you already have these applications installed on your mobile device, immediately delete them.
Normally, before downloading and installing any application, we only read the review of the application. However, these reviews can be fake so users need to be really careful before downloading any mobile apps, whether downloaded from Google Play.
