The boat is at least 4 meters long, buried in the north-south direction and it dates from the middle of the 7th century to the 10th century.

Archaeologists from the Norwegian Cultural Heritage Research Institute (NIKU) discovered the site last week during their last day excavating a market.

The new finding shows that they found the inner boat containing two long bones, also arranged in the north-south direction.

'The result of this excavation revealed that it had no intact wood, but the lump of lumps and some of the ribs and foundations that buried the boat still existed suggesting that it was a buried boat. here ', Niku archaeologist Ian Reed said in a statement.

Reed said new evidence suggests that one person had been buried in the boat, but the researchers would have to perform DNA testing to confirm this hypothesis.

Knut Paasche of the NIKU Institute, a boat specialist added that the boat was buried in the ground and was used as a coffin for the dead or it could also be used as a burial mound for the grave, 'Paasche said.
