Super power-saving AI chip, usable for all devices that have appeared
This chip can work with many types of neural network and AI applications, while optimizing hardware performance based on the software it is running.
Recently, scientists and engineers at Tsinghua University, Beijing introduced a chip that can serve artificial intelligence-related applications for all devices called Thinker. This chip can work with many types of neural network and AI applications, while optimizing hardware performance based on the software it is running.
This processor is compatible with face recognition solutions and supports the interface of the voice control system.
Currently, the installation of AI software on processors needs huge costs. Furthermore, they cannot be used for small-sized devices that use batteries only by many AI applications such as identifying objects in images or receiving voice commands, requiring the use of a variety of neural networks and "burn" a lot of batteries. To solve that problem, Chinese scientists have studied and developed Thinker.
Thinker is extremely energy-efficient and can be integrated into many different types of machines such as smartphones, smart watches or butler robots . Thinker can run continuously for 1 year with only 8 AA batteries.
Thinker will become a bright star in the field of artificial intelligence because not only is it highly adaptable but also consumes very little energy. As expected, Thinker will be officially launched in March next.
